2021 Cabernet Franc
Go There Wines Releases Our 2023 Cabernet Franc
ABOUT THE WINE: This wine is a 100% Cabernet Franc sourced from Santa Ynez Vineyard in the eastern edge of Santa Barbara County where the warmer weather of the region helps balance the fruit aromatics and green notes typical from the variety. This hand-crafted terroir-driven wine was fermented with wild natural yeast and no additives. After pressing, the wine was aged in neutral French oak barrels for 10 months. This spectacular wine was bottled unfined and unfiltered and some sediment may occur.
TASTING NOTES: This wine has a medium ruby color with aromas of bell pepper , green peppercorn and pencil shavings as well as strawberry. It is a medium bodied wine with flavors of tart red fruits balanced with spice and earthy accents and present but soft tannins.
ABOUT THE WINEMAKERS: ABOUT THE WINEMAKERS: Mireia Taribó and Tara Gomez are a wife-wife duo who fell in love harvesting grapes and making natural wines that respect the earth. Both Mireia and Tara fell in love with wine and grapes at a young age–Mireia as a girl in Catalunya Spain (where “wine is considered a food”) and Tara as a girl growing up as a member of the Santa Ynez Band of the Chumash Indians (where she loved to explore the world through her microscope). Both Tara and Mireia have degrees in Enology and Mireia also has a Masters in Enology, Viticulture, and Marketing of Wine. Mireia and Tara met making wine together in 2006, got married in 2014, and started their own winery–Camins 2 Dreams–in 2017.
AWARDS AND HONORS. Tara Gomez is the first recognized Native American winemaker in the United States and was recently honored by the James Beard Foundation as one of the organization’s first cohort of Legacy Network advisors. Mireia and Tara’s honors are too long to list here, including Tara being named 2021 Winemaker of the Year by Vinepair, 2022 Winemaker of the Year by the Hue Society and 2023 Future 40 by Wine Enthusiast. This winemaking dream team has also been profiled by a range of leading wine media outlets, including Food and Wine, Wine Enthusiast, Somm TV, and bon appetit, which called their wines among the “most coveted” in California.
